Archaeology again

I have just found out the best thing that I have known, I have just found out that my house is on the same land as another building was on!!!mrgreen

Now, I don't know if I have ever told you about the smithy I found, but I have just realized that we had some stables and that the smithy was not far away from them, I've also realized that in that time you normally had more than one building on your block of land.surprised

So it makes sense to have a blacksmith right next to your stables right?
Yes, you see, if you have a blacksmiths far away from your stables then it's going to take up to much time lugging around all of those horse shoes, so it's just common sense to have them right next to each other, now isn't it?
And plus I've found the bounderies of the old walls of the old building, which by the way is almost next to the midden where I've found all the pottery shards and things.

So until I can get some clue that the building in our back yard is something else, I say it's a blacksmiths forge.

Now you're think like a true archaeologist, Mr. Beast. Time to invest some of that pocket money you've been saving in a trowel!

hi FB,
its FD's son here!!!!

My pony Sam could do with a shoe or two at the moment.

The farriers come to their horses these days and have a forge in the back of their utes.

Our farrier keeps all the old shoes. Some people make coat or tool racks from them but ours throws his in the wheelie bin which makes a very loud clunk at 5am on a Thursday! Early wake up call for the neighbours!

Let's just hope they'll stop doing that at 5 am in the morning, they should know better than that, they should hope the next time I'm up there that I don't go out to teach them a lesson.(only joking)And promise me that you'll be careful riding on Sam up that road and keep up the good work with the sports.

I love Time Team LID.

It's really fun finding all those thing in my back yard, Bettina.
