Shakespeare and The Sullivans

Posted by Feral Beast

Hello.

A few days ago I started reading King Lear and I saw some of the SULLIVAN'S on DVD.
But first I'll start with King Lear.
King Lear is a grumpy old king that has kicked all of his children out of home but 1.
One of his children that he kicked out of home pretended to be a messenger so he can live with his father.
But I'm not going to give the rest away, 'coz then I'd have to tell you the whole story.
But it is a good book and I love Shakespeare 'coz he's not like the other play writers of his time.

The SULLIVAN'S was really good.
I noticed a difference between today, and in the 1940's.
Back in those day's young girls would sit in the front of a bike, while their brothers would pedal the bike.
Plus you were allowed to play out in the streets until the street light's came on.
The SULLIVAN'S were great, and I don't know why they won't bring it back.

Shakespeare's version of King Lear has a different ending than the original Celtic version...but I'm not going to tell you what it is, 'cos I don't want to reveal any spoilers.
I can't remember how the Sullivans ended...I just seem to recall that it dragged on a lot longer than the actual war did.

The Sullivans ran for a very long time FB, like for years. It was time to retire it when it finished. But it was good, especially in the early days.

Yep, I think you're right about the SULLIVAN's, Brian.

I agree with ya, Andrew.

Thanks, Oirishlad.
