Hello. I'm going to talk about the wreck of H.M.A.S Sydney, destroyed by another ship during WW2 .
Found 240kms from Shark Bay W.A was the H.S.K Kormoran that everyone suspects sunk HMAS Sydney.
The discovery led us early in the morning to her resting place.
The reason it was not in the press this morning was because it had only just been found.
The debris from the site of the battle has also been found with them.
Prime minister Kevin Rudd said that they had found Sydney at the Australian war Memorial in Canberra yesterday.
He said that "we are now one step closer to solving this 67 year old mystery".
In fact he was spot on with his speech yesterday, because they found it this morning after the papers were printed.
The environment minister has put a ban on unauthorised swimming around the site, because no one would want to disturb the wrecks as it is a war graves site. We must protect and show respect to those who lost their lives in any war, both German and Australian.
I think it's great that they found her.
It's the best thing since Captain Cook found Australia.
They can work on figuring out exactly what happened and why no one survived the sinking.

It is interesting FB, that we can call it HMAS Sydney, or The Sydney, but not The HMAS Sydney. Do you know what HMAS stands for? I know what the HM stands for, Her Majesty (that is the queen) but I can't recall what the AS stands for. If you know, I would like to hear.

Andrew,
I can tell y' what the 'AS' stands for, 'cos I'm a know-it-all Smart Alec. But I'll wait and see if Mr. Beast knows first...

I think they lost Sydney and found it in Canberra 'cos they can be very forgetful, Brian.
It stands for Her Majesty's Australian Ship, Andrew.
I think that's probably a good guess Mr V.
Yes I did Brain!
