My new dig

Posted by Feral Beast in

Helloooooooooo. This is one of my digs in the back yard. It's the reason why I haven't put a post up.

So far I've found beer bottle glass, plus, I think I've found the blacksmiths house.
I've found plaster and blue stone walls and white washed wood.
I'll take a photo of it all soon.

If you look closely at the pic you can see one of our chooks that's over-seeing my work.
It even jumped on my shovel and I had to shake it off, but the little bugger jumped into a tunnel I'm digging 'coz I can't dig the hole wider, so I have to dig a tunnel, and trust me, it's safe and I'm not up setting Mum.

We have two chooks but the other one hasn't seen it yet or she's going in it when I'm not around ( don't say they don't want to go in 'coz it's so deep, 'coz I dug a hole at least 6 feet deep and they were always in it no matter what but we had to fill it in, but I'll talk about that another time).

Not sure how old your house is FB, but I hope you don't come across a cess pit

Mr. Beast,

I want to see huge 18 feet wide diagrams detailing everything you've uncovered, with carefully plotted, overlaid wall structure and deposition points included, surveyor's spot levels, eastings and northings, the lot. (That might sound complicated, but just make 'em up like I do.)

Oh yes, and a full excavation report of at least 4,000 pages with lots of big words in it that nobody else understands. (You can make them up as well, if you want. People never admit that they can't understand big words, so they don't bother checking them out in a dictionary.)

Have it all on my desk by Tuesday...and make sure that you buy an Indiana Jones type archaeologing hat as well.

You've got to have an archaeologing hat if you're going to take this seriously.

Thanks Andrew, we think our house was built before the first world war and there might have been an earlier house.Mum says the septic tank is just a bit further over lol.

I'm going to do the lot, Head Master Hughes. And I'll get the hat too, I hope it will be the real one, Head Master but not with Indiana's head in it.

Mr. Beast,

The 'Archaeologing hat' is very important (with or without Indiana Jones' head in it...preferably without otherwise it'd be difficult to wear). It provides invaluable protection from nibbling sheep, the back end of cows (which you never know what to expect from) and chickens that are unhappy about having their peace and quiet disturbed.
